We’re Diggin’ It With Cat Equipment

Jebber’s Contracting, Inc., which is owned and operated by Jeff and Debra Schneider, has been in business since 2000.

Since opening its doors, the contracting business has depended on Caterpillar equipment to get the job done.

Employing 13 full-time operators and laborers, Jebber’s Contracting specializes in directional boring and underground utility work including phone cable, site lighting, building power, as well as ground works, sewer and water lines for major electrical and plumbing contractors. Recent projects keeping the Jebber’s crew busy include Children’s Hospital, the new Women’s Hospital, Immanuel Hospital, Shadow Lake Towne Center, the Dodge Street overpass, Qwest Center and the Joslyn Art Museum just to name a few. Jeff Schneider notes that working on commercial remodels and additions keeps their schedule full when some of the other building trends are having slow times.

To keep up with their demanding schedule, Jebber’s Contracting chooses Caterpillar equipment from NMC. It’s also important to them to have top-quality equipment representing their contracting business. Recently, they’ve added another CAT backhoe to their equipment line-up.

According to Jeff, “The biggest benefit of using CAT equipment is the power. The backhoe series has the power and dependability – and more features. I’ve been in the business for years. Once we got into CAT equipment the power was unbelievably more than the competition. All of our equipment comes from CAT.”

In addition to the backhoes, Jebber’s Contracting has also purchased a CAT skid loader and mini excavator. They worked with Dean Alfers of NMC for the backhoe purchases and Craig Miller of the NMC Rental Store for the skid loader and mini excavator.

“Our buying experience has been very easy,” Debra Schneider commented.

To keep their equipment running at peak performance, they turn to NMC’s product support. Since they don’t need to do the maintenance themselves, Jebber’s Contracting can keep their operators focused on their job sites. With their extremely tight and demanding schedule, equipment maintenance is usually done on-site by an NMC field technician to prevent unnecessary downtime.

“Once we got into CAT equipment the power was unbelievably more than the competition.”

Jeff said, “We’re extremely happy with the service Monty Dedor – our service tech at the Rental store
– provides us. He’s a great guy and great to work with. We broke down at two in the morning moving snow for a customer and NMC came out to make the repair. They put on a new hose and away we went.”

The quality of their work and safety on the job site are two things that keep Jebber’s competitive with other contractors. Their four crews of operators have years and years of combined experience. They care about the work they do and their perfectionism ensures the jobs get done right. According to Jeff, “We really rely on quality. We grew this company with people who wanted to work hard and earn a good living.”

Backed by rugged CAT equipment, and sales and service from NMC, customers can depend on Jebber’s Contracting to continue to live up to their company slogan, “We’re Diggin’ It®.”
