In the 1990’s, hydraulic excavator/articulated dump truck teams were considered the state-of-the-art way to quickly move large amounts of earth.
Over the past 20 years many contractors have returned to the pull-behind scraper concept as their preferred earthmoving system. Many of these contractors use agricultural tractors as the primary power unit for towing scrapers.
Developed from a construction heritage, the Challenger MT900B Special Application tractors are specially outfitted for pulling one or more towed scrapers and are equally adept with disks, rippers, water tanks, rollers and other implements.
Power
Featuring the latest ACERT technology, the CAT engines in the MT900B Series meet all engine emissions requirements without sacrificing performance, durability or reliability and deliver up to 570-horsepower.
You don’t put any transmission behind a 570-horsepower powerplant. Before it went into production, the MT900B Series powertrain was tested in the field and in the lab to ensure rugged performance and reliability. Every transmission is individually tested to ensure it meets Challenger specifications before going into a tractor.
Strength
To put the power to the ground, Challenger engineers incorporated the strongest, most advanced components available into the MT900B Series drive system. Over-sized axles, a tripoint articulation joint, rugged final drives, industry-leading tire options and a special-application hitch let you easily handle the big loads.
Commitment
With the Challenger MT900B Series, you not only get the highest standards of quality in terms of components and construction, you’re also backed by NMC’s commitment to industry-leading customer support.
